Avaya wins Gold in 2017 Edison Awards

During the 30th anniversary of the EdisonTM Awards to acknowledge the best in innovation and excellence in developing new products and services, it was announced that, in light of their innovation, Avaya had been granted Gold in the cybernetic security category.

The vote between the nominees for the EdisonTM Awards was conducted by a panel of over 3,000 business leaders executives, including award winners from the past, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medicine.

In addition to the gala ceremony, the programme comprised strategic activities throughout the whole day: “Forum Know the Innovators” and “Innovators’ Demonstrations”, which offered the audience a practical experience with many of the leading products.

“Security is probably the biggest obstacle to adopt Internet of Things strategies and the potentially deep impact on innovation,” said Liam Kiely, vicepresident of Avaya. “Although the current methods to secure IoT are very complex, expensive and with different degrees of effectiveness, Avaya Surge is quite the opposite: highly secure, simple and profitable.”
