MODERNIZES ITS COMMUNICATIONS COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM WITH AVAYA

 

Grupo Pacífico, specialized in the organization and management of congresses, events and meetings, is carrying out a deep modernization of its communications -with Avaya and Electrotel-, as a key piece for its customer service strategy.

This company, dedicated mainly to the organization of events, meetings and congresses, but also to other services such as communication consulting, technological support, special events and travel, contacted our partner Electrotel in search of a solution to modernize its old Ericsson PBX.

 

" We had a system that was already too antiquated, with few functionalities and that also meant high telephony costs month after month because we were paying high maintenance costs and calls between offices," explains Marc Tello, IT Manager of Grupo Pacífico.

 

The company has 5 offices located in Madrid, Barcelona (2), Seville and Zaragoza, and with the project carried out by Electrotel they have been unified through the Avaya IP Office 500 V2 solution, with a total of 200 extensions, allowing calls between offices at no cost.

"We offer our clients a comprehensive service in the management of their project, thus giving them the necessary confidence, and we also wanted to have the right technological equipment to back us up. As the Avaya brand, it offered us the necessary guarantees," explains Tello.

 

The replacement of the old PBXs has been accompanied by the implementation of VoIP, a project that is currently under development. Many of the small sites are migrating from conventional PBXs to IP telephones, which allows the unification of some sites and the reduction of costs in the maintenance of the entire infrastructure. Seville was the latest site to make the switch.

The changeover process was barely noticeable in the company's day-to-day operations, which were not interrupted at any time. The terminals chosen were the 9600 series, with a very intuitive interface that made the transition even easier for the employees. Among the added benefits of the new Avaya IP Office system is the functionality of the "receptionist" profile, a specific software for better call handling.

"It makes it easier for us to route each call to the right person, even if that person is in another location; as well as better telephone service, avoiding lost calls and guaranteeing attention to all our customers."
